Chimanimani man rapes 87-year-old aunt

CHIMANIMANI – A Chimanimani man appeared before the courts for allegedly raping his 87-year-old aunt who is his father’s sister.
The Incident happened on September 13, 2022.
Seemore Jenya (37) of Chibuwe Village under Chief Mutambara appeared before Provincial Magistrate Langton Carter last week facing rape charges.
Carter remanded Jenya in custody to October 15, 2022.
Prosecutor Thursten Mabvimi told the court that Jenya went to his aunt’s homestead who stays on her own.
Jenya forcibly opened her door which was locked and gained entry. He threatened the aunt with death if she screamed.
He fondled her breasts and raped her once and left the room.
The complainant alerted her church mate the following morning who advised her to report the matter to the Police.
Investigations were carried and Jenya was arrested.
The complainant was examined at Birchenough Bridge District Hospital and it was confirmed that she was raped.
