EBEN to hold poultry business training workshop

MASVINGO-EBEN Hardware and Women Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) are holding a one-day poultry farming business training workshop on Saturday next week (July 22, 2033) at a local hotel).
EBEN hardware director and WEDO Masvingo province ambassador Benonia Machavuda confirmed the workshop in an interview with The Mirror.
She said the thrust of the workshop is to create market linkages for local farmers and registration for the workshop is US$10.
Second Officer in Charge Masvingo Remand Prison and Phakamani/Simukai Women Organization provincial coordinator Memory Shuro will be the guest of honour. She is also the director of Nyasha Farm.
Machavuda who is also a board chair for Ratidzo Zimcare Trust school, a school for children living with disabilities and a board member of Tariro Trust which deals with vulnerable children said they are expecting around 200 farmers to attend the workshop.
“The main objective of the workshop is to empower farmers and enhance their growth from subsistence to commercial farmers. We also want to create market linkage for our farmers,” said Machavuda.
The training course will have presentations from the Department of Veterinary Services, EBEN Hardware, FIVET and WEDO. Some of the topics to be covered include broilers, layers, roadrunners, Sasso Production, cattle and goat rearing, brooding of chicks, feed and management, vaccination and profitable production.
Machavuda said participants are mainly EBEN customers, potential customers and female farmers from across the province.
“At EBEN Hardware, we have a great interest in women empowerment through Agriculture. We have embarked on the women and girl child support in Agricultural projects especially with the Hamara roadrunner sasso breed,”
EBEN hardware is an approved Hamara Poultry and Feed agent and the only agent in Masvingo province.
