MASVINGO–The Shekinah Media has organised a Youth Empowerment and Business Incubation Hub to be held tomorrow at Masvingo Polytechnic from 9 am-4 pm.
Director Angeline Zimbwani Mikiri confirmed the development to The Mirror and said registration is free but strictly for youth aged 18-35.
She said the skills development project is being held to keep the young people productive to dissuade them from social ills such as drug abuse. The program will also address sexual reproductive health issues, provision of health education and health services.
The program is runs under the theme: ‘Supporting skills development for the youth and linking them to socioeconomic opportunities.’
“The skills development program is meant to connect the youth business leaders, and academics who will propel them to greatness. There will be experienced business mentors, and we urge young people from all walks of life to register for the program.
“We are trying to create a situation whereby youths from all walks of life come together and share ideas on issues affecting them. The mentorship roles will be carried out by the university lecturers, captains of industry, heads of Government departments and community leaders. We are confident that this interaction will enable youth to find solutions to challenges they face,” said Mikiri.
Registration is being done at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact Rutendo at 0773 493 368 and Yanai at 0779 580 042.
