Chikomba—Chivhu Dam, located 5km outside the transit town of Chivhu, is 99.5% per cent complete, Resident engineer Sabelo Tsuro has said.

He said this during a tour of the construction project by the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural resettlement Anxious Masuka on Saturday. President Mnangagwa is going to commission the dam soon.

Masuka said that the dam would have many downstream benefits that include irrigation of 120 hectares and fish farming.

Chikomba RDC chairperson Israel Dhikinya said the dam would solve water problems in the town of Chivhu.

“We are not only building a dam, but this is a project that will add value to the Chivhu community through irrigation and fish farming,” said Masuka.https://chipingetimes.co.zw/
