MASVINGO – Masvingo Provincial, the biggest referral hospital in the southern region has finally repaired its X-ray machine after it broke down seven year ago in 2015.
Although the institute’s Public Relations Officer, Chioniso Gono could not be drawn to discuss the period that the hospital did not have an x-ray machine, she confirmed that at long last X-ray services are available once again.
The X-ray was not working because its horizontal Bucky was out of order and it was restored on February 2, 2022.
Gono took the opportunity to inform the public that X-ray services are once again available at the hospital.
“We wish to inform our valued clients that our x-ray machine is now functional at an affordable cost to persons between 6-64 years. The rest will get assistance free of charge. We realise that most of our clients are still unaware of this development and they go to private radiologists for this service thereby taking long to bring back results because of the high costs involved,” said Gono.
The hospital’s Senior Radiographer, Edmore Benjamin said that the x-ray machine was down since August 14, 2015 and was fixed on February 2, 2022.
“Our x-ray machine is now functional as we managed to get a new detector from the Bioray Private Limited Company in Harare on February 2, 2022,” said Benjamin.https://chipingetimes.co.zw
