Sulu, Somandla Ndebele date Chipinge

CHIPINGE –Dendera heir, Suluman ‘Sulu’ Chimbetu, and veteran sungura maestro Somandla ‘Mafia’ Ndebele are this Saturday billed to perform at Dhonzai Bar in Gaza, Chipinge.
Before the Chipinge gig, the Dendera champion is performing at Cannibal Inn, Mutare tonight.
Sulu confirmed the show to Chipinge Times and added that he last performed in Manicaland Province in 2019.
“We last performed in Manicaland in 2019 before the COVID-19 outbreak. It has been long, and we are happy to be back in Mutare and Chipinge,” said the soft-spoken singer.
Soma last performed at the same venue on December 27, 2020, and he promised an electric performance.
“We are looking forward to a wonderful moment with our fans. We had missed our Chipinge fans since our last performance at Dzonzai on December 27, 2020. We also staged gigs at Copper and Tanganda. The response was overwhelming.
“It’s good to be back in Chipinge. We promise fireworks. Our fans must expect new bangers from our forthcoming album that will be released before year-end,” he said.
Sulu and Somandla have collaborated on several projects including a hit song titled Phone yangu.
Ndebele boasts of over 25 albums in a career spanning over two decades. He rose to prominence in 1999 with the album ‘Moyo Wekurera’ which included the hit track ‘Masimba aMwari’ featuring the late Tongai ‘Dhewa’ Moyo. https://chipingetimes.co.zw
